My comparison of Donald Trump to LBJ has limits. There are two types of nationalist. Donald Trump is an isolationist nationalist whereas LBJ was an imperialist nationalist.
The Tyrant Who Must Not Be Named was, of course, both. His regime was based on both taking over lots of other countries and ethnically cleansing them of the wrong groups. Usually imperialists squeeze foreigners instead of eliminating them and usually isolationists expel foreigners to places they have no plans to take over. You need both for Godwin-type analogies to be valid.
