Yet another weird SF fan

I'm a mathematician, a libertarian, and a science-fiction fan. Common sense? What's that?

A Cure for Down Syndrome?

On the one hand, there might be a cure for Down syndrome soon.

On the other hand, the overwhelming majority of unborn children with a diagnosis of Down syndrome are aborted.

On the gripping hand, the following quote from our Secretary of State seems relevant somehow:

How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?

I saw a father walking hand-in-hand with his cute little 3 year old Down's daughter the other day.

I was tempted to stop and say something, but there's no appropriate way to say "From the bottom of my heart, thank you to you and your wife for not murdering this little girl".
