Bookish and Bizarre
At first glance, Van Jones, the person in charge of combining the two sides of leftism (concern for the poor and concern for the Earth), sounds like a large fraction of libertarians:
As a child, Jones was, by his own description, “bookish and bizarre.” When his parents gave him Luke Skywalker and Han Solo action figures, instead of arranging them to fight he would have them run for imaginary public offices. His twin sister, Angela, remembers him as “the stereotypical geek—he just kind of lived up in his head a lot.”At a second glance, a libertarian would have them start competing businesses.
