Didn't Italy and Canada Elect Right-Wing Governments?
Susan Sarandon is planning:
Some people aren't up to date.Always busy, Sarandon is about to start work on the romantic period drama The Colossus, but with the presidential election campaign being heatedly contested, she also has bigger things to consider.
"If McCain gets in, it's going to be very, very dangerous," she says.
"It's a critical time, but I have faith in the American people. If they prove me wrong, I'll be checking out a move to Italy. Maybe Canada, I don't know. We're at an abyss."
This sounds familiar.

We elected a right-wing government, but only because of a major scandal that rocked the previously-ruling Liberal party out.
Not that we trust the new Conservatives to run the country entirely by themselves- they've been running a minority government for some time now. The general impression is that they do a good job, but only if they have the checks and balances of a non-majority.
Strangely enough, the only stuff they can really get passed is fiscally conservative stuff. They aren't brave enough to march out the socially-conservative stuff or revoke some of the social-liberal advances like gay marriage, etc.
