Taking the Metric System to Its Logical Conclusion
While reading a a discussion of the “dehumanizing” metric system at BrothersJudd, I decided the metric system isn't artificial enough. If we're going to ignore history and go to a coldly-rational system, we clearly should drop base-ten systems (like the metric system) and do everything in base sixteen.
How many ounces are there in a pound again?

Some years ago, there was an organization called Americans for Customary Weights and Measures, which promulgated the origins of our traditional measures and the reasons they're good and useful. I wonder if it's still around, or if all its members have been 12-stepped into metrification?

How about using Planck (sp?) lengths, and the Kelvin scale for temperature?
