Yet another weird SF fan

I'm a mathematician, a libertarian, and a science-fiction fan. Common sense? What's that?

Mathematics Is Not Pointless!

The claim that mathematics is pointless is an outrageous calumny.

The proper term is pointfree.

bah humbug, sir! to say that higher mathematics is pointfree implies that at one time those points actually cost something and that now they are being given away for free, a socialistic notion if ever I heard one. It would be just like you and the rest of your Commie Red hordes to try to peddle this codswallop to the American people, and why can't anyone find the police when schools filled with innocent codlings are being walloped by leftist agitators? A black day, sir, a black day, when the most innocent among us are subjected to your filthy and depraved notions of the dictatorship of the proletariat with nary a word of protest from the parents of the youngsters involved or any attempt to stop you on the part of the police. Why do I pay taxes if no one will protect the nation's young from this sort of thing?
