Yet another weird SF fan

I'm a mathematician, a libertarian, and a science-fiction fan. Common sense? What's that?

Rhetoric That Can Backfire

The slogan “EVERY CHILD DESERVES A MOM & DAD!” has been used by the traditional-marriage side in the gay marriage debate. That can backfire. The same slogan might be used by the anti-anti-abortion side (motto: “If it's not pregnant, regulate it.”) next year.

I'm always amused by redistributionists, who want to redistribute everything except what they, personally, have a surplus of.

It seems that no hot young 23 year old socialist has thought that sexual access could be redistributed to ugly fat nerds.

And, as you point out, perhaps we need to redistribute fertility. My GF and I would like to have six kids, but can't. Perhaps in return for subsidizing the marketing and English degrees of hundreds through our taxes, some young career minded women should be drafted to help out.

"For fairness", of course.
