An Oddly-Named Food
I recently saw cans of Spotted Dick on sale in the ethnic foods aisle at my local supermarket. I had thought it was a practical joke invented by British expatriates.
The actually good British foods are the ones with names like that. I think they want to keep the good stuff secret from the French or something. If I'm ever in a restaurant over there, I'm ordering a Scabrous Strumpet's Fanny.
